Skills Assessment Criteria – General Occupations

Applications are assessed against multiple criteria which may require you to provide evidence of your:

  • qualification
  • English language proficiency
  • industry experience
  • industry currency

Use the links below to access the guidelines for the general skilled visa (MLTSSL and STSOL) occupation you wish to nominate.

Tips

  1. Please note we do not provide pre-assessment advice – we cannot tell you before an assessment whether you will be found suitable or not. The assessment criteria should guide you in your decision making as to whether to apply for assessment and/or which occupation to nominate. If you are unsure, you should speak to a registered migration agent.
  2. Read the supporting documents checklist carefully and make sure your application is decision-ready when you submit it.
  3. If you are applying for a skilled visa under the Aged Care Industry Labour Agreement (ACILA) or the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA – WA), please read the skills assessment criteria and supporting documents checklists for the relevant assessment type (ACILA or DAMA). Even though the assessment for these occupations will follow the same process, the qualification, employment and document requirements may be slightly different. Our advice is to select your assessment type first (general skilled, ACILA or DAMA), and then select your occupation.
