Over many years Community Work Australia has been instrumental in establishing standards related to the provision of community worker education and training in Australia. Staff are active members of several commonwealth government Industry Advisory Groups, and education providers’ Course Advisory Committees.
Community Work Australia holds a Memorandum of Understanding with both post-secondary education regulators namely ASQA and TEQSA.
In terms of formal qualifications, Community Work Australia accredits diploma level and higher courses that meet an industry standard.
Community Work Australia also endorses training relevant to members’ professional development needs. This includes both online and face to face training, short courses, workshops, and conferences.
